Please follow the steps below to effectively troubleshoot IFTTT with your Appkettle correctly:
For Appkettle to work with IFTTT reliably it requires a stable and continuous internet connection from your WiFi network. If you find that IFTTT is working sometimes and not others, it will be due to the local network affecting Appkettle’s connection to the internet. To resolve this please see the information below.
First thing is to check if your router is affecting the connection of your Appkettle to the internet, log onto the Appkettle app using 3G/4G signal only (turn off WiFi). Your Appkettle should show the cloud symbol next to it’s name as per the first ‘3G/4G’ online image above.
If you have 3G/4G online please go to below.
If 3G/4G is offline please reset power (unplug/replug) on your Appkettle and try again.
If the cloud symbol is shown the app will automatically log you into your kettle homepage after a couple of seconds.
To check the reliability of the connection to the internet we will need to go back to the devices app page menu. To do this, please select ‘Settings’ and then ‘Devices’.
On the devices page, please watch the device icon and device name over a period of 2-3 minutes.
If your device name and icon do not change and stay solid black and connected through the 2-3 minutes, then the issue is not related to the WiFi or Internet connection to your Appkettle, but rather the linking of the Appkettle device and IFTTT app.

If your device name and icon continually go grey or have no connection over the 2-3 minutes of your testing, then your local network is certainly affecting your Appkettle’s connection.

Then to go through below to resolve fully.
Turn off your Appkettle and unplug it from power.
Open the Appkettle app on your iPad / iPhone / android phone and swipe to delete your device name e.g. ‘kettle’.
Delete the Appkettle app on your iPhone and iPad.
Turn back on your Appkettle.
Re-install the Appkettle app and then re-pair/connect your Appkettle with your WiFi network brand new using the ‘add new device’ section in app.
Turn off WiFi on your iPhone and with 3G/4G connected see if you have cloud symbol is stable in the Appkettle app for your device e.g. ‘Kettle’. If not please go to WiFi troubleshooting here.
If 3G/4G connection is stable and your device name is solid in the Appkettle app, now re-link your Appkettle to the IFTTT App (to do this see section 3 - here) and try heating your Appkettle device to check if it is working correctly.
Got a stable 3G/4G signal but IFTTT still not working? Please continue with the steps below.
For any intermittent or inconsistent Appkettle IFTTT service with your Appkettle device, the most effective way to resolve this is to re-connect your Appkettle IFTTT service. This restablishes the HTML link to IFTTT and resolves most inconsistency issues. To do this, please follow the steps below:
Select the Gear icon on the Appkettle IFTTT service page within the IFTTT app.
Select ‘Edit connection’.
Re-login to the Appkettle app, to re-link the service connection to the IFTTT app.
Create or select one of your IFTTT Appkettle Applets, at the bottom of the applet there is a ‘Check Now’ Button, select this and ensure that it say’s ‘checked’. If not delete the applet and re-create it again.
Once ‘checked’ and re-linked, please re-try your Appkettle IFTTT applets. If ok, enjoy! If not please read ‘If it still isn’t working’ below.
If you have checked all of the above steps and the IFTTT service still isn’t working it could be an issue with IFTTT directly. However to remove any doubt, please do the following:
Instead of selecting ‘Edit connection’ go to ‘Disconnect Appkettle’. This will remove all applets connected with the Appkettle service and provide a completely fresh start to re-connecting this service. Once you have disconnected it completely from IFTTT, next search for ‘Appkettle’ and re-connect this service to your IFTTT app and re-try creating and using Appkettle IFTTT applets once more.
If this still does not resolve the issue, you can try other IFTTT services to see if this is a consistent issue with your IFTTT account and finally you can uninstall and reinstall the IFTTT app, this will remove any legacy issues saved from the App to your account and in very rare cases this could resolve your issue.
