Volume Troubleshooting

If you are experiencing any problems with volume sensing in your Appkettle follow the steps below:

Step 1: Quick Refresh Calibration

  • Lift the kettle off it's base. Don't remove any water that is in the kettle.

  • Simultaneously press and hold the “+” and “keep warm” buttons until you see “000” on the display. Release the buttons and wait until you hear a beep.

  • Replace the kettle on the base.

  • This should resolve any volume sensor issues but if you are still experiencing problems go to Step 2.

Step 2: Power Refresh Calibration

  • You can also reset the kettle's weight by resetting the electrical power to the base.

  • With your Appkettle sitting on its base, unplug the power source then immediately plug it back in again.

  • As power is restored the display will show "000". At this point remove the kettle from the base.

  • When the display shows "- - -" replace the kettle on the base.

Top tips for calibration

Avoid pressing down on the base when using the kettle. This action increases the perceived weight of the kettle and can lead to inaccurate measurement. We recommend that you just tap the power on and try not to lean on the base.

Ensure your Appkettle base is on a level surface and that the cable is not stuck under the base.

The kettle has a 30ml +/- level of error so we recommend you don't fill your kettle exactly to the maximum line or beyond it. You must have a minimum of 250ml of water in the kettle for it to function.

Ensure you have a stable Wi-Fi connection. Products operating with a Wi-Fi signal that regularly drops off can experience errors.
